Corsair’s Oath — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 September 2026
Summary
Corsair’s Oath (Turkish title Korsan Yemini) is a story game. It asks you to create no account, it has no server of its own, and it uses no analytics tools. On iPhone, iPad and Android, ads are shown through Google AdMob, which collects device data as described under Ads. Your progress lives in a save file, kept on your device and, where your device allows it, in your own cloud account. Purchases are processed by Apple, Google or Yandex.
What the game stores
The save file holds only the state needed to continue the game:
- Where you are in the story and the choices you made
- The name you type at New Game (optional; it only appears in the in-game clerk’s ledger)
- Your gem and ticket balance and the ticket refill time
- Memory cards (CGs) and outfits you have unlocked
- Ad counters (daily allowance and cooldowns)
- Privileges you own (No Ads, the Levent Charter subscription, the First Voyage Chest) and purchase transaction ids, kept so the same purchase is never granted twice
Two more things stay on your device only: your settings (language, sound, text size, depth effect) and the last 200 lines of story history. They are never sent anywhere.
Where the save is kept
- iPhone and iPad: on the device and in Apple’s iCloud key-value store, under your Apple ID, so your progress comes back after a reinstall or on a new device. With iCloud off, the save stays on the device only.
- Android: on the device; if Android’s automatic backup is on, it is included in the backup in your Google account.
- Yandex Games: in your Yandex account’s game save.
- Browser (itch.io and web): only in your browser’s local storage.
These stores are services of Apple, Google and Yandex, and their privacy policies apply. We have no access to these copies.
Purchases
In-app purchases (gem packs, the First Voyage Chest, No Ads, the Levent Charter subscription) are made through the App Store, Google Play or Yandex. Your payment details stay with those stores; we never see card numbers or payment information.
On mobile, RevenueCat is used to validate and restore purchases. The game sends RevenueCat a randomly generated anonymous user id, purchase transaction records, and basic device information such as app version and country. This id is not linked to your name, email or any other account. How RevenueCat handles this data is described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Ads
- iPhone, iPad and Android: ads are served by Google AdMob: a banner at the bottom of the story screen, full-screen ads at chapter ends and scene changes (at most one every few minutes) and optional rewarded videos you choose to watch for gems or a ticket. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google collects data from your device: the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, advertising ID on Android), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and your interactions with ads. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Your choice: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the game shows Google’s consent form before any personalised ad. On iPhone and iPad, Apple asks whether the game may track you; if you decline, the advertising identifier is not shared and ads are not personalised. You can change this at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking (iOS), or reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings ▸ Google ▸ Ads (Android).
- Yandex Games: ads are shown only by the Yandex Games platform, under Yandex’s rules.
- No Ads and the Levent Charter remove every ad, rewarded videos included. Rewarded ads are always optional; not watching one locks no content, you simply do not get that reward.
Motion sensor
If you turn on Tilt control in Settings, the game reads the motion sensor to move the depth effect in the background with your device’s tilt. The readings are used on the spot to move the picture; they are not stored and not sent anywhere. The permission prompt appears only when you turn the option on.
What the game does not collect
- Email address, phone number or any account information
- Camera, microphone, photos, contacts or precise location
- Analytics or crash reports (the game has no analytics tool of its own)
- Chat or user-generated content
Age
The game is rated 16+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Deleting your data
- Uninstalling the game removes everything on the device.
- You can manage the iCloud copy in iOS Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ iCloud.
- To have your anonymous purchase record at RevenueCat deleted, write to us and we will do it.
- Advertising data is held by Google; reset or delete your advertising ID as described under Ads, and see Google’s privacy controls for the rest.
Your rights
Wherever you live (for example under the GDPR in the European Union, KVKK in Türkiye or the CCPA in California), you can ask to access, correct or delete data about you, or object to its processing. The game processes only the data listed above; write to the address below and your request will be answered within a reasonable time. Data may be processed in the countries where Apple, Google, Yandex and RevenueCat run their servers.
Changes
If this policy changes, the current version is published at the same address with a new date at the top.
